Cancellation:
ArtWorks! reserves the right to cancel a class,
with a full refund for insufficient enrollment. In the event of cancellation
you will
be notified 7 days before
the first class. In the event of bad weather or teacher absence, you
will be notified by phone. Classes will be made up at the end of the term
Course Withdrawal & Refunds:
You must notify ArtWorks! 7 days before the first day of class to withdraw
and receive a refund (minus $10.00 processing fee)

Ceramic Artist Johanna Chase and Amy Schusser offer
pottery classes for adults at ArtWorks!. Take advantage of the expanded
program and sign up for a time that works for you.
Learn the fundamentals of pottery making in this exploratory class. The potter’s wheel as well as hand building techniques will be taught while exploring individual projects. Projects include both functional and decorative pieces. Carving, wax resist, and decorating techniques will be demonstrated. All work will be finished using colorful Cone 5 glazes. Adult class, motivated teenagers welcome. Limit 8.

Johanna Chase received a BFA in Ceramics/Art Education in 1996. Since that
time she has been producing and selling her own designs in slipcast tableware
out of her own studio in New Bedford. She has taught adults and children
of all ages, and currently teaches High School Ceramics in Rhode Island.
Amy Schusser received her MFA in 1992 from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Amy has taught at a variety of educational institutions and art organizations such as The Worcester Art Museum, Somerset H.S., SnowFarm, The New England Craft Center, and ArtWorks!. Amy maintains a studio at ArtWorks! where she continues to make her whimsical, miniature ceramic chairs, large, hand built decorative vessels, and an assortment of cone 5 ceramic ware. Her work has been exhibited in Savona, Italy, The Columbus Art Museum, Columbus OH, The Firehouse Gallery, Damariscotta, ME, Bristol Community College, and Kohler Art Center, Sheybogan, MI.
