Summer Classes 2009: Expose and nuture your creative self this summer. Out tuition based classes are themed per month and echo some of our 2008-2009 exhibits and signature year-round programs in a variety of media: Garden, recylcing, photography, found objects, sculpture, mural-making, theater, dance and storytelling.

Workshop July 18, 2009

10 am to 4 pm

Stories from Your Life: Making Meaning from Memory Maps- A story may provides a storyteller with the oppurtunity to visually identify, amplify and connect the major themes running through one's life while isolating events (stories) that contain these themes. This workshop will all participants to create a story map and through movement, reflection, speaking and listening, craft a multi-faceted personal story.

New monthly series of amazing nights with outstanding storytellers

Saturday, July 18, 2009- Regi Carpenter

"Love is War" is an unforgettable tender, heartbreaking and heartwarming story of a soldier and his sweetheart during WW II. This performance piece, by Regi Carpenter, is her father's tale of being a foot soldier during the war in the Philippines and its aftermath back home. Love is War is full of favorite songs like, "I'll Be Seeing You, " "It Had to be You," and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" sung by Regi and accompanied by Roz Feinstein on piano.

Teen Artists Internship program for 2009 (see programs)


Teen Mural Project-

Two nights a week after-school from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. on Thursdays and Fridays.
Teens can get an in depth look at documentary photography culminating in an student exhibit, and working and learning toward a public community mural in the summer of 2009. This program is ongoing and students may join at any time, see Programs page for details!
