Mr. Ferreira finds a rhythm in his work that resides deep within his soul. In an artist statement submitted with the work Antoine highlights his development and journey as an artist.
"I’m a self-taught artist from Dakar (Senegal, West Africa). I started painting in my home town of Dakar, mainly
donating my work to the “village SOS” which is a non-profit organization in Senegal that offers shelter, education, and support to orphan children. My passion for the arts however, took a slow turn when I came to the US, due to the fact that coming from Africa, like many other immigrants, I had to adjust in many ways, by learning the language and culture of this country that I heard so much about in Dakar.
I began to paint when I moved to New Bedford from New York City, where I had lived for a few years, and worked as a chauffeur.
My work, which I just call “Black Art” (acrylic on canvas) was shown for the very first time at the Gallery X show entitled, A Question of Faith, (2006)."

Ms. Tsareva thrills the eye with her kinetic mark-making. Taking the familiar and adding a source of artistic adrenaline, Olga Tsareva
allows the viewer to see beyond the two dimensional space and provides a setting for visual exploration and interpretation.
“In my latest series, I see my task as to portray the very dynamics of life through various objects: fountains of water, branches of bushes, fluttering flags, and streaks of rain. The driving principle of my drawings is always the search for equilibrium of three dimensional illusion and a flat surface, the actual image and a sign, the real and a hint. I am not seeking a real image, but only its likening; an allegory, a transformation.”
